Use capacity more effectively
Automatic route setting, real-time train monitoring and decision support help operators keep traffic moving and focus their attention where it is needed.
Cactus TMS gives regional railways one adaptable platform for control, automation and decision support. Connect legacy and modern infrastructure, centralise operations and expand at your own pace.
One operator environment. Multiple underlying systems, suppliers and generations of railway technology.
A modern TMS should improve daily operations without forcing an unnecessary replacement of reliable infrastructure.
Automatic route setting, real-time train monitoring and decision support help operators keep traffic moving and focus their attention where it is needed.
Connect systems from different suppliers and generations. Retain reliable equipment while introducing a modern operating environment above it.
Bring timetable data, infrastructure status, alarms and train movements together in one clear operational view.
Regional railways rarely start with a blank sheet of paper. They operate a combination of interlockings, communication solutions and supporting systems introduced over many years. Cactus TMS is designed for that reality.
Because we develop the core software ourselves, the solution can be adapted to customer requirements while retaining a stable and proven product foundation.
Cactus CCS connects railway infrastructure and surrounding systems to a common object model. Cactus TMS can therefore work with consistent information regardless of the original supplier or technology.
Adapters, communication protocols and a common object model separate the TMS core from the individual underlying systems.
A consistent environment for traffic control, automation, train monitoring, decision support and operational follow-up.
This separation makes it easier to replace or add underlying systems without redesigning the complete traffic management environment.
Cactus TMS brings the information and tools required before, during and after daily railway operations into one connected environment.

The customer can decide which symbol system to apply. Images are normally based on macro objects, such as complete stations. These objects provide the foundation for station images, control overviews, panoramic images and panel overviews.
Cactus TMS can control traffic automatically according to the timetable. When delays create conflicts, the traffic manager can let the system resolve them automatically or intervene manually. Operators can also adjust trigger points and times during operation.
The train graph displays train movements in real time in relation to planned traffic. Operators can quickly identify deviations, understand developing conflicts and study capacity utilisation across a section of track.
Import timetables from sources such as Excel files or SQL databases and edit them directly in Cactus TMS. Punctuality is continuously monitored against the timetable, while detailed train information and delay causes are available directly from the operational view.
Provide concurrent access for traffic managers, engineers, maintenance teams and administrative staff. Each user sees the functions relevant to their role, with access levels managed by station, subsection or complete line.
From long regional routes to one of Scandinavia’s largest public transport systems, Cactus technology is built for operationally critical environments.
A new traffic control system for Stockholm’s red and blue metro lines, designed to support continued operation, future expansion and the reuse of well-functioning existing signalling technology.
A modern remotely operated traffic control system helping Inlandsbanan centralise operations across a long and geographically demanding railway.
Whether you are replacing an existing control system, centralising several lines or connecting interlockings from different suppliers, we can help define a practical path forward.
